DAY 1:
Vinicunca Exploration
Early Departure & Scenic Drive (03:30 a.m. - 04:00 a.m.): Your adventure to the world-famous Rainbow Mountain begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We will head southeast through the spectacular South Valley, driving alongside breathtaking landscapes and traditional Andean villages belonging to the majestic Peruvian mountain range.
Breakfast in Cusipata: After a 2-hour drive, we will arrive at the charming town of Cusipata, where a delicious, hot breakfast will be served to recharge your energies before the trek. From there, we continue our drive for another hour to the official trailhead checkpoint.
The Short Trek through the Andes: Before hitting the trail, your professional guide will provide essential recommendations and safety instructions for trekking at high altitudes. We then begin a steady, scenic 1-hour hike toward the summit. For travelers who prefer a more relaxed journey, horse rentals are widely available from local community members at the start of the trail. Along the route, you will be surrounded by pristine Andean scenery, complete with grazing herds of alpacas, llamas, and soaring eagles.
The Summit of Vinicunca (5,200 m / 17,060 ft): Upon reaching the top, Vinicunca Mountain welcomes you with its surreal, stunning display of natural mineral colors. You will have ample time to explore the viewpoint, soak in the magical panoramic views of the Ausangate glacier, and capture unforgettable photographs of this natural wonder.
Buffet Lunch & Return to Cusco (05:00 p.m.): After enjoying the summit, we will complete a comfortable descent back to our transport.
