The Chachani Downhill is a thrilling biking adventure specially designed for extreme sports enthusiasts, offering an exhilarating descent from an altitude of nearly 6,000 meters above sea level. Starting from the slopes of Chachani Volcano, one of the most famous and highest volcanoes in Peru, this experience takes place just 55 kilometers from the White City of Arequipa. Although there may be snow during certain seasons, the route is usually done along Andean trails that provide a unique sense of tranquility along with spectacular panoramic views.

Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
DAY 1:
Arequipa – Chachani Volcano - Arequipa
Our Chachani Downhill Adventure in Arequipa begins with hotel pickup at 8:00 a.m. We will then travel to the highest accessible point of Chachani Volcano. Upon arrival, you will be provided with full cycling equipment along with a mountain bike.
Our guide will explain how to properly use each piece of equipment before we get ready to start our descent. We begin riding down the sandy trails of Chachani Volcano (considered one of the highest in Arequipa), while enjoying breathtaking landscapes and the vast Andean scenery. During the ride, you may also spot agile vicuñas grazing and being herded by local people. Throughout this extreme downhill experience, we will descend along sandy volcanic trails of Chachani Volcano and Misti Volcano, zigzagging at a controlled speed toward the White City of Arequipa.
Our support vehicle will follow the route at all times to ensure safety and assist in case of any situation. At the end of the descent, you will witness stunning panoramic views of the entire city of Arequipa and its surrounding natural beauty. We will take a short break for photos at a scenic viewpoint before boarding our transport for the return to the city. Mountain biking offers great physical and mental benefits.
However, this extreme downhill activity requires good physical condition, concentration, and control. Since it involves descending a mountain at speed, there are inherent risks if the rider is unable to properly control the bike and speed.
