Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
DAY 1:
Iquitos – Amazon River
The adventure begins with your transfer from the airport or your hotel in Iquitos to our agency, and then to the dock, where we will start an exciting boat journey along the Nanay River until reaching the majestic Amazon River, the largest river in the world by volume.
Our first stop will allow us to witness the confluence of the Nanay, Itaya, and Amazon Rivers, an impressive natural phenomenon. Then, we will visit the indigenous community of the “Kukamas or Yaguas”, where we will be welcomed with traditional dances and songs. Here, you can purchase handmade crafts and share a special moment with the local inhabitants.
We continue to Fundo Pedrito, a breeding center for Amazonian wildlife where we can feed giant fish such as paiche, observe caimans, anacondas, and the exotic Victoria Regia plant. At midday, we will arrive at Avatar Amazon Lodge & Canopy Park, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch before settling into your cabin. In the afternoon, we will take an excursion to a wildlife reserve in its natural habitat, where monkeys, macaws, sloths, and even the feared anaconda will surprise us with their presence.
After dinner at our cozy bar, we will prepare for a night excursion in the jungle. We will explore its mysterious trails to observe tarantulas, scorpions, praying mantises, and other nocturnal animals while listening to the sounds of nature in its purest state.
