Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
DAY 1:
ATV Maras - Moray half day
Your off-road adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 07:00 a.m. and 07:30 a.m., as we travel by comfortable private transport for about 40 minutes to the scenic sector of Cruzpata in the Chinchero highlands. Upon arrival at our base, your specialized guide will provide a comprehensive safety briefing, gear up the group with helmets and gloves, and lead a short practice session to ensure everyone feels confident operating the modern ATVs. Once ready, we will rev up our engines and ride across open Andean trails toward the fascinating archaeological site of Moray.
Here, you will take a guided walking tour of the massive, concentric circular terraces, which served as an advanced Inca agricultural research center where scientists cross-bred and acclimatized over 250 species of crops from all corners of the Tawantinsuyo Empire. Following this visit, we remount our ATVs and race across wide-open plains and rustic dirt roads toward the historic town of Maras, passing by its charming colonial church and main square.
In compliance with local environmental regulations, we will park our ATVs near the town and board our support vehicle for a short, safe drive to the spectacular Maras Salt Mines. You will marvel at more than 3,000 hand-carved salt pools fed by a natural underground saltwater spring, which have been meticulously harvested by local families since pre-Inca times. After exploring the salt mines and capturing unforgettable photos, we return to our quad bikes for a thrilling final ride back to our base in Cruzpata, followed by a private transfer back to Cusco, arriving around midday.

Cusco is a city meant to be explored on foot. Every street holds a story, and as you walk, you feel as though you aren't just "visiting" a city, but rather walking through layers of a living past: the Inca world and the Spanish Baroque, seamlessly blended in stone. That is why, if it is your first time in Cusco, the historic center is one of the best ways to kick off your trip. Additionally, sitting at around 3,400 meters 11,150 feet above sea level, a relaxed stroll helps you acclimate to the altitude, making you feel much better before taking on longer or more demanding excursions.

If you're lucky enough to visit the land of the Incas in June, you'll instantly realize that Cusco brings more to the table than just music, traditional dances, and colorful parades. There’s something else in the air—a rich, savory, and roasted aroma wafting from the main plazas, drawing both locals and travelers to lively, makeshift dining tables.
