Amazon Crossing 2d 1n

We will start our Amazon crossing by picking you up from the airport or hotel in Iquitos to make a walking tour of the main places in the city of Iquitos such as the Plaza de Armas, the main church, the house of Fierro and some mansions of the rubber era. After the city tour we will embark on our motor boat to sail for about 15 minutes on the Itaya river to enter the largest river in the world, the Amazon on which we sail to reach the Cumaceba Curaka Inn.

On the way with some luck we can see gray and pink dolphins. Upon arrival at the lodge we will be greeted with a typical drink with some seasonal fruit. Then you will be assigned your room so you can arrange your things and rest a little before the guided tour to recognize the great biodiversity of flora and fauna typical of the Peruvian Amazon, enjoy a typical lunch and we will have some free time to photograph and shoot some birds.

During this excursion we will also visit a sugar cane juice extraction factory in an artisanal way where we can participate and enjoy some drinks that are made with the juice of the sugarcane. We will return to the lodge to enjoy a dinner before starting with a night walk to appreciate insects, batrachians, and some nocturnal birds.

The second day of our adventure will start very early to be able to go walking or by boat (depending on the season) to observe birds being the best time to observe the great majority of birds including the Hoatzin which is the only ruminant bird in the world.

We will return to the lodge for breakfast and then visit a local family who raise some species of animals such as boas, anacondas, sloths, tortoises and others.

After the typical Amazonian lunch we will start the return to the city of Iquitos, visiting the community of native Bora who still preserve their customs, dialect and traditions intact, we can be part of their culture and it is recommended to bring something to exchange with their crafts by hand.

Finally we will arrive in Iquitos where our adventure ends leaving you at the airport or Hotel as you request.
