Detailed Itinerary: Day by Day
DAY 1:
Welcome to the Amazon Rainforest
Transfer & Navigation to the Amazon River: Our journey begins with a seamless transfer from the airport or your hotel in Iquitos to our agency. From there, we will head to the dock to start a fascinating boat journey along the Nanay River until reaching the majestic Amazon River, the largest river in the world by volume.
The Meeting of the Rivers: Along the route, we will witness the impressive confluence of the Nanay, Itaya, and Amazon Rivers—a unique natural spectacle where the different colored waters run side by side.
Cultural Visit to the Kukamas or Yaguas Community: We will immerse ourselves in the culture, traditions, and ancestral dances of an authentic indigenous community. You will have the opportunity to take part in a live music demonstration and purchase beautiful local handicrafts. (Pro-tip: Candies or school supplies for the children in the community are always warmly welcomed!)
Wildlife Exploration at Fundo Pedrito: A fun stop where we will feed paiches (giant Amazonian fish), piranhas, caimans, and prehistoric turtles. We will also observe the famous Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world.
Arrival at Avatar Amazon Lodge & Canopy Park: We sail to our primary destination to enjoy a delicious local lunch and settle into your cozy private cabins.
Excursion to the Free Animal Reserve: We will visit an open space where monkeys, macaws, sloths, and anacondas live safely in their natural habitat.
07:30 p.m. | Exquisite Dinner & Bar: Unwind from the day's adventure with an exquisite dinner at our cozy jungle lodge. The bar will be open for those wanting to try exotic regional drinks.
