Day
1

Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Machupicchu

08:30am

You will be picked up at your hotel or hostel in Cusco and we will depart en route to the Sacred Valley of the Incas by tourist-class bus.

10:00am

Our first stop is Pisaq, where we might make a stop at the famous artisinal market depending on the day of the week (market day is Sunday, with a lesser market also operating on Thursday). Pisaq Archeological Complex is located on a hilltop overlooking the town.  We will have 02 hours for a guided visit of the site, which includes Q‘allaqasa fortress, the Intihuatana sun temple, and the Pisaqa agricultural terraces. After exploring the site we’ll head to our next stop, Urubamba, passing several small Andean towns of the river valley, such as Coya, Lamay, and Calca.

13:00pm

You’ll have time in Urubamba for lunch in a local restaurant. (Lunch is not included in the tour price.)

15:00pm

Arrival to the town of Ollantaytambo, often referred to as a “living museum” because it has been continously inhabited since Inca times and, with its buildings erected atop Inca bases, it still retains its original Incan urban planning. The town is located at the foot of the Fortress of Ollantaytambo, the only Inca citadel to have withstood Spanish attack. We’ll spend about an hour visiting the site with our guide.

19:00pm

It is from the town of Ollantaytambo that we will catch the train that will take us to Machu Picchu Pueblo, which is colloquially known as Aguas Calientes.

20:30pm

Arrival at the small but bustling town of Aguas Calientes, where someone will be waiting to assist us to the hostel where we’ll be spending the night. You’ll have some time to accomodate youself in your room and we’ll have a meeting to arrange the next day’s plans, discussing what time you would like to arrive at Machu Picchu Archeological Complex, who is planning on clim
